About

From the Farms of Kerala to the Heart of Your Kitchen

At Amra Farms, nestled in the lush, green stretches of Palakkad, we’ve been growing with the land for decades. It’s a life that teaches you respect – for ingredients, for nature, and for the tools you cook with.
Inspired by this connection to the earth, Tawas is our humble extension of the farm-to-table philosophy – except here, it’s soil-to-stove. Each piece of our cast iron cookware is made to last generations, just like the recipes passed down through them.

Our Story

We’re not just a cookware brand. We’re farmers, artisans, and food lovers – rooted in the red soil of Palakkad, Kerala, and passionate about keeping time-honoured cooking traditions alive.

Tawas was born out of a simple vision: to bring authentic, durable, and chemical-free cast iron cookware into Indian homes. Behind this vision is our founder, Ridhu Ranganathan, who grew up surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of wholesome food being cooked in cast iron on open flames.

As a daughter of two lifelong farmers – N. Sahadevan & K. Prasanna, founders of Amra Farms – Ridhu learned early that good food begins at the source. And good cookware? That begins with the right metal, forged with care and seasoned with patience.

At Tawas, we honour tradition with every pan we pour. My journey from farm life to flame-cooked meals inspired a brand that’s as real as the food we love.
